Series of life lesson sharings from Gene as he and friend, Rich, hike the Appalachian Trail
Our life in Christ is very rich! Today while Sherry was working on a 2.5-hour project, I got on my shiny blue mountain bike and hit the Smith and Sandford Creek Greenways. It was 10 a.m. with a bright blue sunny sky and a nice breeze as I coasted over the little bridge across from the golf course. When I got to the big soccer field, I waved at a couple of players.
After 9 days of going up and down mountains, I’ve returned to my life in California. Probably avoiding poison ivy is the biggest reason why. Although I admit I do enjoy not having 40 pounds on my back 10-12 hours a day.
I miss being with Rich, and it was odd coming home last night from LAX. The house seemed so different. Even being at the airport with so many people and nothing “green” was odd. But I did meet some nice people and even got to pray in Spanish with a woman heading to Puerto Rico. So, life goes on.
The adventure continues! First, here’s a summary of each day so far. I (Sherry) will provide that at the top each week. Below that, you’ll really enjoy Gene’s learning along the way. (His words are in blue.) Let’s go!
