Never Disappointed: Praying in the Spirit

We will NEVER be disappointed in our hope and trust in Christ.
Romans 5:5:
And hope maketh not ashamed [NEVER DISAPPOINTS]; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.

Our Father’s spiritual love OVERFLOWS in our hearts by His in-dwelling holy spirit through Christ. Jesus said “God is Spirit,” and we MUST worship Him that way.

Philippians 3:3:
For we are the circumcision [those truly committed to God], which WORSHIP GOD IN THE SPIRIT, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

That’s also how we are to pray.

Ephesians 6:18:
Praying always with ALL PRAYER and supplication IN THE SPIRIT, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

Speaking in tongues is praying in the spirit and giving thanks well to the Father.

1 Corinthians 14:14,15,17:
For if I pray in an unknown tongue, MY SPIRIT PRAYETH, but my understanding is unfruitful.
What is it then? I will PRAY WITH THE SPIRIT, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also.
For thou verily GIVEST THANKS WELL, but the other is not edified.

Speaking in tongues by God’s spirit within allows us to rejoice in Christ Jesus, to pray without ceasing, to give thanks in everything, and not to “quench” God’s abundant spirit within us. Thessalonians was probably the first letter Paul wrote to the churches. He puts these truths about spiritual worship and prayer all together at the close of his first letter to them.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-19:
REJOICE evermore.
PRAY without ceasing.
In every thing GIVE THANKS: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Quench not THE SPIRIT.

Let’s pray much in the spirit by speaking in tongues “the wonderful works of God.”

Acts 2:11:
…we do hear them speak in our tongues the wonderful works of God.
