Following in Christ’s Steps: God’s Will for Our Lives

Christ left us AN EXAMPLE. We should follow in HIS STEPS.

1 Peter 2:21:
For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us AN EXAMPLE, that ye should follow HIS STEPS.

We are CALLED to walk like our brother, Lord, and Savior, Jesus Christ. Today, IN THIS WORLD, we can endure life’s challenges and bring God’s forgiveness and healing to others.

1 John 4:17:
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because AS HE IS, SO ARE WE IN THIS WORLD.

God’s will is that we are free from sin and in good physical health. He forgives us and heals us from ALL sin and disease.

Psalms 103:3:
Who forgiveth ALL thine iniquities; who healeth ALL thy diseases.

How does our loving heavenly Father do this? Through His Son, Jesus Christ. ALL GOOD THINGS FROM GOD come through Jesus Christ.

1 Corinthians 8:6:
But to us there is but one God, the Father, OF [GREEK EK, MEANING “OUT OF”] whom are ALL [GOOD] THINGS, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, BY [GREEK DIA, MEANING “THROUGH”] whom are all things, and we by him.

Jesus gave his life for us, to carry out His Father’s will. That brings TOTAL FORGIVENESS from sin, and COMPLETE PHYSICAL HEALING.

Isaiah 53:4-6:
Surely he hath borne our griefs, and CARRIED OUR SORROWS: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and WITH HIS STRIPES WE ARE HEALED.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath LAID ON HIM [CHRIST] THE INIQUITY OF US ALL.

Jesus fulfilled this scripture.

Matthew 8:17:
That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself TOOK OUR INFIRMITIES, AND BARE OUR SICKNESSES.

1 Peter 2:24:
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, BEING DEAD TO SINS, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes YE WERE HEALED.

How can we walk in Christ steps? We have “Christ in” us, the hope of glory [Colossians 1:27]. We can walk by the spirit of Christ in us, AND we can read the scriptures that tell us who we are in Christ!

Psalms 37:23:
The steps of a good man are ORDERED BY THE LORD: and he delighteth in his way.

Psalms 37:31:
The law of his God is IN HIS HEART; none of his steps shall slide.

Psalms 85:13:
Righteousness shall go before him; and SHALL SET US IN THE WAY of his steps.

We cannot do this by ourselves, by our limited mental and physical strength alone. We need God’s grace to us in Christ.

Jeremiah 10:23:
O LORD, I know that the way of man is NOT IN HIMSELF: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Today, let the Lord direct your steps. Be an ambassador in Christ’s stead who boldly declares FORGIVENESS FROM SIN AND PHYSICAL HEALING FOR ALL.

That is God’s beautiful and perfect will for all of our lives.
