God's Love God's Power Health & Healing Holy Spirit Jesus Christ

Healed and Saved

There is an Old Testament scripture that has often given me comfort.

Jeremiah 17:14:
Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be HEALED; save me, and I shall be SAVED: for thou art my praise.

When the Lord God heals us, we are healed. When He saves us, we are saved. This was written before Christ came for us. Isaiah prophesied what the Messiah would do.

Isaiah 53:5:
But he was wounded FOR OUR TRANSGRESSIONS, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes WE ARE HEALED.

Isaiah said the stripes the Messiah would receive “healed” us. That was considered an established reality even before the birth of Jesus. Through him we have remission of sins and physical healing. God promised both of these realties.

Psalms 103:3:
Who FORGIVETH all thine iniquities; who HEALETH all thy diseases.

When did this forgiveness and healing take place? When Christ fulfilled all he was called to do.

John 19:30:
When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, IT IS FINISHED: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Jesus bore our sins and made us righteous in him. We were healed by his stripes.

1 Peter 2:24:
Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live UNTO RIGHTEOUSNESS: by whose stripes YE WERE HEALED.

We all WERE HEALED. It is an established reality. But we must believe the truth, despite worldly opinions or symptoms we feel in our bodies. It is only in the name of Jesus that we have this healing, by the power of the holy spirit within us. We manifest the power that raised Christ from the dead as we believe to use what we have in Christ. Peter and John saw this happen in their lives when they healed the crippled man outside the Temple gate. They knew that the risen Christ, the Prince of Life, brings healing to ALL who believe.

Acts 3:15:
And killed the Prince of life, whom God hath raised from the dead; whereof we are witnesses.
And his name through FAITH IN HIS NAME hath made this man strong, whom ye see and know: yea, the faith which is by him hath given him this PERFECT SOUNDNESS in the presence of you all.

Even though Peter and John were threatened by the religious leaders for speaking the truth boldly in love, they were undaunted. They met with other disciples and prayed for God to bring MORE HEALING in the name of Jesus.

Acts 4:30:
By stretching forth thine hand TO HEAL; and that signs and wonders may be done by THE NAME OF THY HOLY CHILD [SERVANT] JESUS.

May WE likewise speak the truth of what we have in Christ Jesus, our Lord. May we say with all thankfulness and grace to our Father, “You HEALED me, O LORD, and I AM HEALED; You SAVED me, and I AM SAVED: for thou art my praise, through my Lord Jesus! Amen.
