God Invented the Morning

Rodgers and Hammerstein put it well with:

“Oh, what a beautiful mornin’
Oh, what a beautiful day
I’ve got a beautiful feelin’
Everything’s goin’ my way.”

God invented the morning! It is a fresh start every 24-hour period.

Genesis 1:5:
And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the MORNING were the first day.

God’s lovingkindness and compassion are new and fresh every morning because our Father is faithful to keep His Word!

Lamentations 3:22,23:
It is of the LORD’S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every MORNING: great is thy faithfulness.

Jesus understood how important the morning was for getting his will lined up with his Father’s will.

Mark 1:35:
And in the MORNING, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.

People didn’t waste time getting to Jesus. They came EARLY in the morning to hear him teach.

Luke 21:38:
And all the people came early in the MORNING to him in the temple, for to hear him.

Even after Jesus had died, some faithful disciples went to find him EARLY in the morning.

Mark 16:1,2:
And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
And very early in the MORNING the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

As soon as the apostles were set free, they went EARLY in the morning and taught the people about Jesus Christ [the Word of Life!].

Acts 5:18-21:
And laid their hands on the apostles, and put them in the common prison.
But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors, and brought them forth, and said,
Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.
And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the MORNING, and taught.

David and other psalmists knew how important the morning is for praising and thanking God for His goodness to us.

Psalms 5:3:
My voice shalt thou hear in the MORNING, O LORD; in the MORNING will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up.

Even though we may weep at night, God ALWAYS brings deliverance to us through Christ.

Psalms 30:5:
For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the MORNING.

We pray all throughout the day, and that begins with the morning!

Psalms 55:17:
Evening, and MORNING, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.

Let’s thank our Father each morning for His constant care for us and protection over us.

Psalms 59:16:
But I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the MORNING: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

God causes us to rejoice each morning and evening.

Psalms 65:8:
Thou makest the outgoings of the MORNING and evening to rejoice.

Starting the day in prayer shows our Father that we trust in His loving care for us.

Psalms 88:13:
But unto thee have I cried, O LORD; and in the MORNING shall my prayer prevent [come before] thee.

We start our morning with God’s lovingkindness and we see His faithful hand in our lives until we go to bed at night.

Psalms 92:2:
To shew forth thy lovingkindness in the MORNING, and thy faithfulness every night.

Jesus came to show forth the Father’s power and beauty and strength.

Psalms 110:3:
Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the MORNING: thou [the Messiah, Jesus Christ] hast the dew of thy youth.

We can claim God’s promises each morning. Sometimes our prayer is even before sunrise!

Psalms 119:147:
I prevented [arose before] the dawning of the MORNING, and cried: I hoped in thy word.

God will keep His promises. We see His faithfulness each day as the sun rises.

Psalms 130:6:
My soul waiteth for the Lord more than they that watch for the MORNING: I say, more than they that watch for the MORNING.

Wherever we are physically in the morning, God is right there with us to comfort and support us.

Psalms 139:9,10:
If I take the wings of the MORNING, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea.
Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

How wonderful that we can hear our Father’s lovingkindness in sweet fellowship with Him each new morning. As we trust Him, He will show us where to go and what to do.

Psalms 143:8:
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the MORNING; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

Let’s thank our Father each new morning for all He has given us in Jesus Christ, our Lord!
