Last night I remembered a couple of old hymns we sang in my childhood going to Roman Catholic mass. They are “Shepherd of Souls in Love Come Feed Us,” and “O Sacred Head, Surrounded.” I can still sing most of the lyrics because we repeated them during many Sundays [and some weekday masses at the RC school I attended] in my youth. They do show a love and appreciation for what Christ has done for us.
I also was thinking about what I heard Tucker Carlson share about the causes and potential outcomes of this current war that the U.S. is involved in. Sherry and I continue to pray for God’s deliverance for EVERY person from Satan’s death-dealing systems in this world. There is no worldly power greater than God. And now His Son is Lord of all. We must claim God’s grace and mercy to help us through Jesus our Lord. When on earth, Jesus realized that he had no authority like earthly kings. But his methods and power were greater indeed.
John 18:3:
Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.
Sherry reminded me of some truths to help us at this time.
Psalms 91:4-8:
He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
Thou shalt NOT BE AFRAID for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the DESTRUCTION THAT WASTETH AT NOONDAY.
A thousand shall fall at thy side, and ten thousand at thy right hand; but it shall NOT COME NIGH THEE.
Only with thine eyes shalt thou behold and see the reward of the wicked.
Philippians 4:6,7:
Be careful [ANXIOUS] for NOTHING; but in every thing by PRAYER AND SUPPLICATION with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
And the PEACE OF GOD, which passeth all understanding, shall keep [GUARD] YOUR HEARTS AND MINDS through Christ Jesus.
I reminded her of another promise to claim today.
Isaiah 26:3:
Thou wilt keep him in PERFECT PEACE [PEACE, PEACE; ESTABLISHED QUIET WITHIN], whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
Let’s continue instant in prayer. Our Father will guide and direct us when we trust in Him and not our own understanding [Proverbs 3:5,6].
Ephesians 6:18:
Praying ALWAYS with all prayer and supplication IN THE SPIRIT [1 Corinthians 14:14,15], and WATCHING THEREUNTO with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.

I think we have to recognize that Jesus Christ has impact upon the hierarchy of the world leaders of today: all the clauses about him in the phrases below are present or past tense. Being the “ruler of the kings of the earth” would suggest he is not passively sitting, but actively at work in the world today. He lives!
Revelation 1:5-6 (CSB) 5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince (Archon) of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood, 6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
1 Peter 3:22 (KJV) Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.
1 Peter 2:13-14 (KJV) 13 Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord’s sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;
14 Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.
17. Honour all [men]. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.
Thank you, brother Gene. I love reading the bible in the eloquent language of KJV. It is a blessing to me that you use that version when quoting scripture. Isaiah 26:3 is an example of that. “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is STAYED on Thee. The word ‘stayed’ is a very strong illustration of remaining secure in Him.
Since Jesus Christ is now seated at the right hand of the Father, WE have his authority, and our prayers are our tools of GREATER power to impact the kingdoms of this world in His name. We can circle the prayer wagons around this situation… Thanks Gene!
