Have you ever stubbed your toe because you had no “night light”? God wants us to see where we are going spiritually. Jesus told us about this.John 11:9:
Jesus answered, Are there not twelve hours in the day? If any man WALK IN THE DAY he stumbleth not, because he seeth the light of this world.
We can walk in the light of day and not stumble physically. We can also walk by the spirit of God within us and believe the scriptures to walk “in the light.” Jesus knew who he was.
John 9:5:
As long as I am in the world, I AM THE LIGHT of the world.
Jesus brought spiritual light to the world. He was the living Word, God’s word made flesh [John 1:14]. He made it available for us to be filled with the Father’s love and spirit. We are born again by believing on him and receiving the faith of Jesus Christ.
Romans 10:9:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou SHALT BE SAVED.
Ephesians 4:7:
But unto every one of us is given grace according to the measure of the GIFT OF CHRIST.
We have “Christ in”us, the hope of future glory. We also have the written word, the Scriptures, to give us light in this dark world.
Psalms 119:105:
Thy word is a LAMP UNTO MY FEET, and a light unto my path.
Some people try to walk in their own limited “sparks,” like those in Eastern Bible culture who had small lamps attached to their feet. Others used the burning end of a large rope to “light” their way in early morning. They needed a bigger and fuller light not to stumble or fall.
Isaiah 50:11:
Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass YOURSELVES about with SPARKS: walk in the LIGHT OF YOUR FIRE, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.
I am sorry for where I have not listened to my Father and walked in HIS light through Christ. I want to be like Jesus as I walk this day.
Matthew 11:29:
Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am MEEK AND LOWLY IN HEART: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
Let’s walk, like our Lord Jesus Christ did, in God’s spiritual light as we stay meek and lowly in our hearts. We will find rest for our souls!
