As tomorrow America celebrates 250 years, let’s give thanks to God our Father for all the riches we have as a nation, in Christ.
From the mountains and the plains,
Across the mighty rivers.
A land of wealth and gain,
A home of loving givers.
From deserts and from dells,
Across the grain-filled fields.
A country where God dwells.
Abundance that He yields.
Founded from true strength,
When monarchs ruled like steel.
Now 250 in length,
What joy and pride we feel.
Not perfect, but with heart
To do our Father’s will.
His grace here from the start.
His mercy on us still.
True freedom comes in Christ.
All other–mere illusion.
In him, eternal life.
Without him, sad confusion.
And our republic stands,
On Bible truth foundation.
Our trust in God’s firm hands.
A humble, virtuous nation.
May as we celebrate,
Two centuries and half,
Remember why we’re great,
And view our star-filled staff,
With thankfulness and peace,
In hearts resolved to win,
For God we trust to lead,
As bright new days begin!
