God’s joy and gladness is for us today.
God sent His Son to be the Savior of the world. That is “good tidings” to ALL people. And it brings great joy!
Luke 2:10,11:
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.
For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Let’s see the JOY AND GLADNESS that we have in Christ Jesus, our Lord!
Isaiah 61:1:
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound.
This prophecy about Jesus Christ still holds true today. We are anointed to preach the good news of God’s only begotten Son. And the meek will hear!
Deuteronomy 28:47:
Because thou servedst not the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, for the abundance of all things.
Others who neglect God and His Son have lack. Our greatest joy in life is to serve our heavenly Father with joy and gladness of heart. He has given us abundance of life through the good shepherd, Jesus Christ [John 10:10].
I Kings 8:66:
On the eighth day he sent the people away: and they blessed the king, and went unto their tents joyful and glad of heart for all the goodness that the LORD had done for David his servant, and for Israel his people.
Let’s think back today on all of the great things that God has done for us: good health, family, food and shelter, a free country, and the joy of His goodness to us in Jesus Christ, the Son of David!
Esther 5:9:
Then went Haman forth that day joyful and with a glad heart: but when Haman saw Mordecai in the king’s gate, that he stood not up, nor moved for him, he was full of indignation against Mordecai.
Worldly happiness is based on good or bad circumstances. Haman thought he was happy because he stood against God and His people. Yet, he soon died when the adversary could no longer use him.
Esther 8:16,17:
The Jews had light, and gladness, and joy, and honour.
And in every province, and in every city, whithersoever the king’s commandment and his decree came, the Jews had joy and gladness, a feast and a good day.
God rescued his people through the faithful prayers and commitment of Mordecai and Esther. Today we have the “king’s commandment,” for Jesus said to make disciples of all nations in his name.
Psalms 32:11:
Be glad in the LORD, and rejoice, ye righteous: and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.
We have gladness and rejoicing as we keep our heart upright, knowing who we are in Christ. Let’s continue reading those New Testament letters Paul wrote to the church, that show our spiritual standing in Jesus Christ.
Psalms 35:27:
Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the LORD be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.
As we walk by the spirit and carry out the Father’s will, others will shout for joy and be glad! Those who love Him will also love our “righteous cause” in making known Jesus Christ.
Psalms 51:8:
Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast [allowed to be] broken may rejoice.
We live in a world where bones are broken and people get hurt by their lack of trust in our loving and kind heavenly Father. Let’s truly “hear” God’s joy and gladness in Christ, and share with them how to have a life of peace and victory!
Psalms 67:4:
O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.
How does God judge people righteously and govern the earth’s nations today? Jesus Christ has given his life so we can be filled with holy spirit and carry out the Father’s will. That brings true justice and strength to any nation.
Psalms 105:43:
And he brought forth his people with joy, and his chosen with gladness.
When Moses led the Israelites from the bondage of Egypt, they were joyful and glad at their new-found freedom. There was not one feeble person among them. Today we rejoice at the spiritual freedom and physical healing we have in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord.
Isaiah 16:10:
And gladness is taken away, and joy out of the plentiful field; and in the vineyards there shall be no singing, neither shall there be shouting.
Why do people lack God’s gladness and joy? Why are their physical lives depressed and their needs not being met? Because they have not turned to the Savior who will cause them to sing and shout with joy. Let’s speak truth with love today.
Isaiah 22:13:
And behold joy and gladness, slaying oxen, and killing sheep, eating flesh, and drinking wine: let us eat and drink; for to morrow we shall die.
Sadly, the people in Jerusalem only had temporary joy and gladness because they had turned from God’s goodness. Today, in Jesus Christ, we have true joy and gladness—and the hope of eternal life!
Isaiah 35:10:
And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.
We have been ransomed, bought back from the adversary, by Jesus Christ our Lord. Our joy is everlasting, for we will someday have a new spiritual body, like unto Christ’s glorious body. Then there will be no sorrow or sighing. What a day that will be!
Isaiah 40:9:
O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
Isaiah prophesied much about God making Himself known through the suffering savior and Messiah. Jesus fulfilled every prophecy to make our lives complete. Let’s bring those good tidings to others this day!
Isaiah 41:27:
The first shall say to Zion, Behold, behold them: and I will give to Jerusalem one that bringeth good tidings.
Who do you know that could be uplifted and refreshed with the gospel? Now is always a good time to walk by the spirit and make known the Father’s will.
Isaiah 51:3:
For the LORD shall comfort Zion: he will comfort all her waste places; and he will make her wilderness like Eden, and her desert like the garden of the LORD; joy and gladness shall be found therein, thanksgiving, and the voice of melody.
All of this has become spiritually available by confessing Jesus as Lord and believing that God raised him from the dead [Romans 10:9,10]. The “wilderness” of our lives can be made fruitful and vital like the garden of Eden, with the living, spiritual strength we have in Christ.
Isaiah 51:11:
Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
Let’s get together with other “redeemed” ones and sing with joy and gladness for what we have in Jesus Christ. This world’s sorrow and mourning MUST give place to gladness and joy—for we have been redeemed by the blood of the Lamb.
Isaiah 52:7:
How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace; that bringeth good tidings of good, that publisheth salvation; that saith unto Zion, Thy God reigneth!
Let’s be “publishers” of salvation and overcome those who publish the lies and snares of the Devil. We are more than conquerors in Jesus Christ, for we cannot be separated from God’s love through him [Romans 8:37-39].
Isaiah 65:18:
But be ye glad and rejoice for ever in that which I create: for, behold, I create Jerusalem a rejoicing, and her people a joy.
Isaiah looked forward to the Messiah’s victory over death. We look back on the cross and claim all the accomplishments we have in Jesus Christ. It was the joy set before him that allowed Jesus to endure such pain and torture to set us free [Hebrews 12:1-3].
Isaiah 66:10:
Rejoice ye with Jerusalem, and be glad with her, all ye that love her: rejoice for joy with her, all ye that mourn for her.
The true “Jerusalem” are those who are free in Christ; we are the “Israel of God” [Galatians 4:26; 6:16]. Anyone—Jew or Gentile—can become part of the church of God by believing on Jesus Christ [I Corinthians 10:32].
Jeremiah 33:11:
The voice of joy, and the voice of gladness, the voice of the bridegroom, and the voice of the bride, the voice of them that shall say, Praise the LORD of hosts: for the LORD is good; for his mercy endureth for ever.
We have a voice of joy and gladness because the Lord is good to us. His mercy endures forever. God has given us grace, mercy, and peace through His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jeremiah 48:33:
And joy and gladness is taken from the plentiful field.
Why do people lose the goodness they have seen in their lives? Because the Devil only comes to steal and kill and destroy. Yet, when they turn to Christ—they have a more abundant life filled with joy and gladness [John 10:10].
Joel 1:16:
Is not the meat [food] cut off before our eyes, yea, joy and gladness from the house of our God?
Joel saw that people were malnourished and sick because they did not seek God with a pure heart. Let’s stay meek and humble to our Father, so that He will work in us to joyfully do His good pleasure [Philippians 2:13; Hebrews 13:21].
Nahum 1:15:
Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
We can “cut off” the adversary’s influences from our lives when we walk by the spirit and believe the Word of God! Jesus taught his disciples to pray, and concluded that we might be “delivered from the evil one.” Let’s publish true peace through Christ.
Zechariah 8:19:
Thus saith the LORD of hosts…shall be to the house of Judah joy and gladness, and cheerful feasts; therefore love the truth and peace.
Today, millions of people around the world turn for salvation to the only true Savior and Lord. Jesus makes each day a day to “cheerfully feast” with joy and gladness. We love the truth and peace God gives us through Jesus Christ, His only begotten Son.
Romans 5:11:
And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
We joy in God through Jesus Christ—for by our brother and lord we have received an “at-one-ment.” We have been reconciled to God by the work of Christ, and joyfully walk in his love and power this day.
Luke 1:14:
And thou shalt have joy and gladness; and many shall rejoice at his birth.
This prophecy about John the Baptist set the stage for the coming Messiah, Jesus the Christ. We have joy and gladness for what John did, and even more so for what Jesus has done for us.
Romans 10:15:
And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Isaiah’s prophecy has come to pass in our lives. We have the joy of bringing glad tidings of great joy that will be to all people. Jesus Christ has come, and true light has come into the world! Rejoice and be glad in him.
I Thessalonians 3:6:
But now when Timotheus came from you unto us, and brought us good tidings of your faith and charity [God’s love], and that ye have good remembrance of us always, desiring greatly to see us, as we also to see you.
We remember each other in prayer and greatly desire to be together. Let’s live with faith and love so that the glad tidings of our lives can shine forth to others this day.
I Peter 4:13:
But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.
We rejoice even in the challenges of life, knowing that in Christ, we have victory and can overcome the wicked one. And our ultimate victory, eternal life with the Lord, is assured for us with exceeding joy!
Luke 2:10,11:
And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
What a great day we have to think on the scriptures, and see the great joy and gladness we have through the good tidings of all that Jesus Christ has done for us. Praise the Father through His Son!
