The morning breaks in brilliant sunThe clouds disperse in light,
The golden rays fill everyone,
And stars escape the night.
And men arise to work and serve
Where e’er their lot may fall,
Using talents undeserved,
For God’s grace gives them all.
Noontime brings its blazing heat
And men retire to shade.
Rest, then rising, toils repeat
Till every debt is paid.
And e’er each worker’s homeward bound,
They finish every task,
And in their master’s graces found,
To do all that he asks.
Night arrives, and faithful Sol,
Descends into the west.
Man returns to his abode,
A place of peace and rest.
He washes, reads, and prays for grace,
To see him through the night.
Then firmly sets his rugged face
To start again, next light.
What’s the use of daily labor,
Why use meager strength?
Can we truly help our neighbor,
Do him good at length?
Only in the Lord be strong,
And you’ll be truly free.
Only to our God belong,
And live eternally.
I will call upon my God,
To have His great salvation.
Only in His paths to trod,
And find such jubilation.
Evening, morning, and at noon,
I’ll pray and cry His name.
He’ll hear my voice, arriving soon
To rescue, heal, and save.
Psalms 55:16,17:
As for me, I will call upon God; and the LORD shall save me.
Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice.
