One day over a year ago, I was sitting with our granddaughter and she began to sing a little tune: “Down by the bay, where the watermelons grow.” I’d never heard it before, so I looked it up online. I found it among a half-hour video with lots of fun songs. Eventually that song collection became one of our favorites, even playing it when driving to and from her home in our car [yes, we have our very own car seat just for that purpose].
That reminds me of finding joy in the Lord and singing in our hearts each day. Jesus was full of joy and wanted us to have that joy too.
The Devil likes to make up terms to push his ideas. “Gender dysphoria” is a made-up name for people who don’t believe they are what God made them to be. I’ve taught language for years, and “gender” used to be a term only used for classifying nouns, adjectives, and participles. It has nothing directly to do with sex. God made “men and women,” as Jesus said in Mark 10:6: “But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.” People who deny God and his creation, deny their own bodies:
Love, love, love. “All you need is love.” The Beatles sang about it. God IS LOVE.
There is snow in North Carolina today. Sometimes it is rare here, but still very lovely. The Bible speaks of how important snow is to daily life, and how significant as a comparison to eternal affairs this frozen moisture is.
