The word “crown” is used in the New Testament. The Greek word for crown [stephanos] comes from the verb stephō, meaning to entwine or wreathe. It was used in ancient Greek writings to describe a badge of royalty, or as a prize in the public games, which were often laurel leaves entwined to make a wreathe for the head.

How does a Christian handle wealth and finances so that God is still first? Jesus talked about that.
Most Christians agree that there are eternal rewards for the good deeds we do in this life. Jesus and his disciples clearly taught this. But some people think that believers can LOSE rewards because of their subsequent evil deeds. This is contrary to scripture, and has hurt the lives and ministries of Christians for centuries. Let’s go to God’s Word and see what it says about this.
“Over is really under.” Here is a wonderful truth from the scriptures:
Way down deep in Ozark land, in hills so rich and green,
Some GOOD NEWS for today! God gave us each a body full of soul life to steward and care for. We are also stewards of God’s mystery, the one body of Christ.
A New Song for Today
What is the most loved Christian hymn of all time? A beautiful heart declaration by an old slaver and sea captain.
Christ is at the Father’s right hand. We have more than “his works” as the foundation of our lives. We have his very existence as God’s ONLY-BEGOTTEN SON who is now raised and seated in the heavens FOR US. He is the ACTUAL HEAD of the spiritual body that we are members of. We belong to him as much as we do to each other. Paul warned people of not falling prey to Bible teachers who would minimize who and what Christ is for us today.
Our “heart” is who we are. We want to give ALL that we are to love and serve our heavenly Father. That’s what Jesus showed us to do.
