TNT. It can mean a couple of things, and both are powerful. TNT is confused with dynamite as being the same thing. However, the two are not similar at all. Dynamite is made of an absorbent medium coated in nitroglycerin and wrapped in a holding tube. TNT on the other hand is an actual compound, trinitrotoluene. Due to its relative insensitivities, TNT was deemed to be a safer alternative to dynamite. In other words, TNT needs to be ACTIVATED in order to show its power.
The other TNT is “The New Testament.” This is not only a portion of the Bible text, but the agreement God made with all people through His Son, Jesus Christ.
Our lives pass on quickly. “Oh how the days go swiftly passing by!” That reminds me of a song written by Stuart Hamblen in 1958:
We’ve been staying with Sherry’s Dad, her sister, and our nephew for nearly two weeks. It was like being “home” again, because we had lived here for five years previously. Palos Verdes, California, is one of my favorite places in the world: pristine beaches, rugged cliffs, expansive ocean views, and cool ocean breezes. The best thing though, is being with people you love. We got to spend some quality time with family, and also visit old friends. Life is good.
This morning it was 25 below zero with the wind in our little part of Northwest Idaho. Overnight, our hot water pipe froze. When the repairman came, he was doubtful if he could help.
I remember as a boy being scared of our basement. There was an old oil furnace in the back of this small cellar with a dark and foreboding area behind it. I often saw “ghosts” and “monsters” back there. I remember once being trapped on the stairs—in the dark—and seeing the glowing red eyes of some creature making its way to devour me. Thankfully, I was able to get the door open and return to the light of the kitchen. Light brings deliverance and peace. God is light.
Sherry and I lived on Guam from January 1986 to June 1992. During that time, we had to batten down the hatches for three typhoons: Lynn in October of 1987, Roy in January 1988, and Russ in December 1990. We had heard stories of the destructive storms Karen (1962) and Pamela (1976) and how almost the whole island had to be rebuilt.

I’m currently more than half-way in reading Winston Churchill’s A History of the English Speaking Peoples. Throughout European and American history there have been cabals, national movements, secret juntas of the wealthy and powerful, lies and propaganda…and always a steady fabric of Christian believers who prayed and fought the real spiritual fight of believing.
